Rohan Fernando – Writer, Director, Producer
Born in Jaffna, Sri Lanka in 1972, Rohan Fernando moved with his family first to Switzerland and then to Halifax, Canada. He drew on his own story for his documentary debut, Cecil’s Journey. The film was the first documentary to be selected as best short film at the Atlantic Film Festival, and has been broadcast nationally a number of times. In 2003 it was honoured with a Gemini nomination for best documentary.

Fernando followed up the film with the 2005 release Trudeau's Other Children, about Pierre Trudeau's early travels and how they informed his later embrace of multiculturalism as official Canadian policy. In 2006, he completed the feature documentary Blood and Water, about a man coping with the loss of his entire family to the 2004 tsunami.

Between 2003 and 2005, Fernando directed 17 episodes for
the first three seasons of the highly rated TV series, Past Lives, produced by BBR Productions for Global Television.

He is currently in post-production on a film about a cacao farmer
in Belize who manually works his plantation in the same spirit his Maya ancestors did – as a steward of the land.

Suzanne Lively – Producer
Suzanne Lively has worked in just about every aspect of dramatic and documentary film and television production. She served as production manager for Rohan Fernando's documentary Trudeau's Other Children and produced his first independent drama, Fade to Black.

As project manager, post-production supervisor and unit manager for Halifax-based production house Triad Films, she worked on a number of acclaimed documentaries, including Hank and Jimmy: A Story of Country and Nuliajuk: Mother of the Sea Beast. She has also worked in series television, on the comedies Made in Canada and Liocracy.
